Sustainability Governance

The council directs development of the corporate sustainability program and cultivates a common framework for sustainability, ensuring strategic alignment among the divisions and functions. The CSO reports progress regularly to the executive team, led by Chairman, President and CEO Peter Huntsman.

Tier 1 process safety incidents

An unplanned or uncontrolled release of any material resulting in fatalities, lost-time injuries, major damage to facilities, or other severe consequences. Tier 1 & Tier 2 incidents are defined in the American Petroleum Institute Recommended Practice API-RP754.


Tier 2 process safety incidents

An unplanned or uncontrolled release of any material resulting in recordable injuries or more than $2,500 of damage to facilities or equipment, among other consequences.
